- Two measuring modes, Echo-Echo (E-E) and Transmit-Echo (T-E):E-E is applicable for non-metallic coating
- T-E is to measure the thickness of material without coating, such as metal, plastic, glass nylon resin, ceramics, rubber, and ice.
